I’ve seen this picture floating around with people thinking the numbers are referring to the budget…
Tangled still has the biggest budget out of any animated movie ever ($260 million), Wreck-It Ralph and Frozen were both around $150 million and Big Hero 6’s hasn’t been released yet but I’m assuming it was around the same range.
The numbers are talking about the total number of hours it took to render the finished film - with all of the new rendering and simulation tools they built for the movie as well as the size and complexity of the city, obviously it’s going to take longer to calculate all that and pull it all together into one frame of animation.
The graph is showing that it took almost 200 million hours (spread across four separate rendering farms that work together as one 55,000 core supercomputer obviously because to do it on one single computer would take… 23,000 years) to render the entire movie, not that its budget was $200 million (although it’s probably close to that but still… Tangled definitely cost more than $11 million to make lmao)
I know u in pain but how about u go ahead and eat this ass
